About National Scouting Report

Where college recruiting begins.

Talent alone doesn't get you recruited. Being seen does. Since 1980, NSR has helped student-athletes get in front of college coaches with honest evaluations and real guidance, so the right programs know who you are.

Do you want to play in college?

Plenty of talented athletes never get the chance, not because they couldn't compete, but because the right coaches never knew they existed. Recruiting rewards the families who understand the process and start early. That's where we come in.

Playing college sports teaches discipline, sacrifice, and teamwork that last long after the final whistle. If that's the path you want, NSR helps you pursue it the right way: an honest read on where you fit, and a real plan to get there.

Our story

NSR started in 1980 with a simple act of belief. Founder Bob Rigney put together a recruiting profile for his own son to help college coaches see what he could do. It worked, and Bob realized that countless other families needed the same help getting noticed.

That idea grew into National Scouting Report. More than four decades later, the company is still guided by the same family. Bob's son, Rusty Rigney, carries the work forward, along with a team of scouts who have played and coached the game themselves.

What hasn't changed is the approach. NSR still believes recruiting is personal. We meet athletes, we watch them compete, and we give families an honest assessment, not a sales pitch. The goal has always been the same: connect student-athletes with the college programs that genuinely fit them, on the field and in the classroom.

It began as a father helping his son get noticed. It became a way to help thousands of families do the same.
